Off to the South of Cambodia!

Apparently I had a very different experience on my first night bus than most people. We got picked up at 10:30 pm and were boarding the bus about 11:15 pm. After one stop to use the restroom here's what happened. I turned my backpack so I was lying on all the zippers. I fell asleep. My friend woke me up and the bus ride was over. Sweet. Great. I could dig that.

Be In The Now

I spent ten straight days practicing yoga, meditating and eating the best vegan food I have ever eaten in my life (possibly the first vegan food I've eaten in my life) with some of the coolest people I have met so far at Hariharilaya Meditation and Retreat Center.

Merry Christmas! Happy Happy!

I'm sure that my much younger self would disagree, but in the last few years, the holidays have stopped being so much about the holidays themselves (the presents, candy, turkey etc...) and a lot more about the people that I get to spend the holiday with. I mean honestly, I'll take any excuse to gather the people that I love to one place.

Kingdom of Cambodia: "Nation, Religion, King"

The Khmer Empire began in 802 with Jayavarman II who declared himself a God-King. The Khmer Empire flourished until the 15th century. It was during this time that the Angkor complex was built.

English is the darnedest language

Today was the second morning in a row that I've woken up in a sparkling clean, quiet, air-conditioned room after a full nights sleep.
